Medical Office Administration & Coding Program

The objective of the Medical Office Administration & Coding (MOAC) program is to provide students with a broad base of knowledge and skills for entry-level positions in the healthcare field. The program offers comprehensive training in traditional office skills, interpersonal skills, and specialized medical office billing and coding procedures. The program begins with instruction in keyboarding and 10-key proficiency, Microsoft Office applications, and email communication to develop foundational computer and administrative skills. Instruction in diagnostic and procedural coding, covering both basic and advanced techniques, prepares students for medical billing and coding tasks. The program concludes with an externship at a healthcare organization or an on-campus capstone project, allowing students to apply their knowledge in practical settings.

Graduates are prepared to take the AAPC’s Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam, a recognized industry certification.

The program is a hybrid format that combines both in-person and online learning experiences. Students are required to attend classes on campus while completing other coursework online or remotely. On-campus sessions take place three days a week with each session lasting four hours.

The MOAC program is 12 months in length (four quarters) with a student-to-teacher ratio of 15:1.

The students will earn 77 credit hours which are 1,344 clock hours.
