Tuition and Fees

Tuition Payment Requirements

Tuition is billed on a quarterly basis. Tuition is generally due at the start of each program quarter. An optional Tuition Payment Plan (TPP) is available which may be subject to a fee and late charges.  For all programs, the TPP allows a maximum of three payments over the term. Failure to comply with the TPP may result in removal from class. A student with a balance owing on his/her account may not be allowed to continue to the next term.

Delinquent Accounts

In the event the student account becomes delinquent PTI may refer a delinquent account to a collection agency. If PTI refers the student account balance to a third party for collection, a collection fee will be assessed and will be due in full at the time of the referral to the third party. The collection fee will be calculated at the maximum amount permitted by applicable law but not to exceed 33.3% of the amount outstanding. For purposes of this provision, the third party may be a debt collection company or an attorney. If a lawsuit is filed to recover an outstanding balance, the student is responsible for any costs associated with the lawsuit, such as court costs or other applicable costs. The delinquent student account may be reported to one or more of the national credit bureaus. Any delinquent institutional debt must be cleared prior to re-enrollment.

Returned Check Processing Fee

A charge of $32 is assessed each time a student’s check is returned by a bank withholding payment. In addition, the student may not be permitted to pay by check for any future payments.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

The school will refund all money paid if the applicant is not enrolled. The school will refund all money paid in instances where a starting class is cancelled by the school.

If the applicant cancels after the fifth business day subsequent to signing the enrollment agreement, but prior to attending class, the school will retain the registration fee not to exceed $100 and all other money paid will be refunded.

If the student withdraws after entering class, the school will refund a pro-rated portion of tuition, lab fees, and technology fees based on the following schedule:

The training completion percentage is calculated by dividing the number of calendar days through the date of student’s termination by the total number of calendar days in the term. When calculating refunds, the official date of a student’s termination is the last actual date of recorded attendance. All refunds will be paid within thirty calendar days of the student’s official termination date.

Any student receiving military, federal or state financial aid who officially or unofficially withdraws from Perry Technical Institute will have funds returned to the appropriate financial aid program based on the regulations governing the program.

Washington Student Achievement Counsel (WSAC) Grants

Grants offered through WSAC are offered based on full-time enrollment. Changes in enrollment status prior to the start of the term or failure to commence attendance in all courses for the term will result in a recalculation of the award amount. Students who received funding based on fraudulent information will be required to repay 100% of the funds received.

Withdrawal after a student has attended at least one day in each course will not result in an award recalculation.

State Board of Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) Grants

For refunds/repayment of grants offered through the SBCTC, the Perry Technical Institute Tuition Refund Policy will be followed.
