The transferability of credits earned at Perry Technical Institute is at the discretion of the receiving college, university, or other educational institution. Similarly, the ability of a degree, certificate, diploma, or other academic credential earned at Perry Technical Institute to satisfy an admission requirement of another institution is at the discretion of the receiving institution. Accreditation does not guarantee credentials or credits earned at Perry Technical Institute will be accepted by or transferred to another institution. To minimize the risk of having to repeat coursework, students should contact the receiving institution in advance for evaluation and determination of transferability of credits and/or acceptability of degrees, diplomas, or certificates earned.

Articulation Agreements

A collaborated program between Perry Technical Institute and Yakima Valley College provides students with the opportunity to earn an Associate of Applied Science in three technical areas:

  • Instrumentation & Industrial Automation Technology
  • Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology
  • Electrical Technology

An Associate of Applied Science along with the technical program allows students to work more effectively in their chosen field and to help them compete for advanced opportunities. In addition to completing their technical program at Perry Technical Institute, students complete credits at Yakima Valley College. Credits are designated as core requirements and are required for all programs.

Upon acceptance into one of these three certificated programs at Perry, students may begin taking required classes at Yakima Valley College to complete their AAS degree. This can be done while waiting for entrance into the technical portion of their degree (prior to starting classes at Perry), while they complete the technical training at Perry, or after they complete their technical training.

For additional information, please contact Yakima Valley College at 509.572.4956 (yvcc.edu) or Perry Technical Institute at 509.453.0374.

An articulation between Perry Technical Institute, the Yakima School District, the Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center, and the Toppenish School District provides high school students with the opportunity to earn credit for one quarter in Perry’s Automotive, Welding, Medical Assistant, and Medical Office Administration & Coding programs. In order to qualify, high school students must meet all terms of the articulation agreement, including but not limited to, providing Perry Technical Institute with transcripts that depict transferable credits have been earned.
